Landstown Middle School has two Computer Resource Specialists. They assist classroom teachers with obtaining, learning, and integrating technology into their lessons. They also plan and teach collaboratively with teachers to creatively use emergent technologies in a manner to maximize student learning.
Available resources include:
- 2 computer resource labs. These labs are used by classroom teachers when computer resources are needed.
- 3 computer exploratory labs. Computer Exploratory teachers use these labs to conduct exploratory classes including a Keyboarding (for high school credit)
- 2 technology education classrooms. Each of these labs is supported by computer-assisted instruction modules.
- Homework Center. Located within the cafeteria for use as a before-school homework assistance program staffed by teachers daily from 7 to 8:30 AM.
- Mobile Labs. To support computer use within the classroom, the school has eighteen mobile labs of twenty wireless laptop computers in each cart. Each cart is equipped with its own laser printer and the computers are Windows XP laptops with the latest Microsoft Office software installed.
- Classroom Computers. All Landstown Middle School classrooms are equipped with computers with internet access (T-1 connection). All classrooms also have the capability to send their computer's display to their televisions for class presentations. Most classrooms are equipped with NetTV televisions.
- Library Media Center. The library has more than 20 computer workstations available for catalog access, internet research, or word processing. In addition, a 20 computer laptop cart is available for use within the library.
