Syllabus or Course Outline
Materials:
Students will be required to have the following materials:
Three- prong notebook folder with pockets
- Loose- leaf paper
- Pen and pencil
- 3 ½ Floppy Disk with a plastic shutter
* Supplies will stay in the classroom until the end of the class.
Student Conduct:
Students will be required to abide by the following computer lab rules:
1. No food drink or gum in the lab.
2. Program software may not be copied.
3. Personal software may not be used in the lab.
4. Do not swap equipment without instructor’s permission.
5. Use only designated software and do not change or tamper with any computer settings.
6. Tidy your workstation and return all materials before you leave.
7. Keep magnetic items out of the lab.
8. Do not enter or tamper with another student’s files.
9. At all times, students are to adhere to the rules as described in the Student Code of Conduct.

Due to the nature of this course work homework will generally not be assigned. Students with access to a computer or typewriter are encouraged to practice keyboarding skills using touch typing technique (home row).
Make up Work
Students are expected to make up any missed assignments within 5 days of returning to school. Students may turn in a signed intramural slip that allows them to stay after school on intramural days. In order to stay after on a particular day students will sign up at least one day prior to the day that they wish to use the lab. Intramural schedules will vary each nine weeks. Check with your teacher for scheduled days. Students are also allowed to use the computers in the cafeteria in the morning starting at 7:30 AM.
Evaluation and Grading
Students will be evaluated on class participation, timely completion of class assignments, tests, quizzes and projects.
Class Procedures: Students are to be seated on time and begin working on the posted assignment until receiving further instruction. |
