Course Syllabus
The Student should be able to:
· Demonstrate mastery of the keyboard
· Use correct techniques while operating the keyboard
· Develop speed and accuracy according to established scales
· Demonstrate the ability to format, edit, and print personal, educational,
and professional documents
· Develop proofreading skills, detect errors, and make corrections
· Demonstrate the ability to compose at the keyboard
Materials required
· One inch 3 ring binder
· 10 section dividers
· Pens/ Pencils (not red)
· Loose-leaf paper
·
3 ½ floppy
· Planner
Wednesday, March 21, 2007 ·
Students will be evaluated based on tests, tutorials, book assignments,
documents, timings (VBCPS scale), and a rubric evaluation of techniques.
Make up Work
· Students are responsible for identifying and making up missed and incomplete
assignments within 5 school days of the absence.
· All make up work must be done on school computers in the designated
labs during computer intramural time or times scheduled by the teacher.
HOMEWORK
The only homework assignments will be the expedient return of signed
class expectation sheets and progress reports. Students are encouraged
to practice at home or in labs and review graded assignments and handouts,
and prepare for tests.
Classroom Rules
Student Conduct: Students will be required to abide by the following
computer lab rules:
1. No food, drink or gum in the lab.
2. Program software may not be copied.
3. Use of personal software is not allowed in the lab.
4. Do not swap equipment without instructor’s permission.
5. Use only designated software and do not change or tamper with any
computer settings.
6. Tidy your workstation and return all materials before you leave.
7. Keep magnetic items out of the lab.
8. Do not enter or tamper with another student’s files.
At all times, students are to adhere to the rules as described in the
Student Code of Conduct.
